Instead of memorizing dates, she found herself writing fantastical stories about the historical figures, imagining secret rendezvous between Jose Rizal and Queen Isabella, complete with witty banter and stolen kisses.   Her phone buzzed – a text from Bea, her best friend: "Coffee? My treat! We need to celebrate… something." Lai grinned. Bea knew exactly what she needed: escape. Tonight, no dusty textbooks. Just coffee, gossiping, and the comforting weight of friendship.
