CHICKLIT

CHICKLIT

TITLE: BEYOND THE TEXTBOOK OR MORE THAN JUST AN F

Lai stared at the "F" on her Philippine History exam, a familiar sting of disappointment settling in. Another one. She wasn't stupid, just… easily distracted. History felt like trying to assemble a thousand-piece puzzle blindfolded, while simultaneously juggling flaming torches. Instead of memorizing dates, she found herself writing fantastical stories about the historical figures, imagining secret rendezvous between Jose Rizal and Queen Isabella, complete with witty banter and stolen kisses.

Her phone buzzed – a text from Bea, her best friend: "Coffee? My treat! We need to celebrate… something." Lai grinned. Bea knew exactly what she needed: escape. Tonight, no dusty textbooks. Just coffee, gossiping, and the comforting weight of friendship. Even though school wasn't exactly going as planned, Lai had Bea, a killer sense of humor, and a wild imagination. Maybe failing history didn't mean failing at life. Maybe it just meant she was destined for a more creative path – maybe she’d write a hilarious historical romance novel, or become a social media influencer, charming the internet with her quirky personality. The possibilities, like a perfectly mixed coffee, were bubbly and exciting. Besides, who needs a perfect GPA when you have a perfectly imperfect life?
